Trump says he will consider request to release more 9/11 records

US President Donald Trump indicated on September 13 that he would consider a request from relatives of 9/11 victims to release additional records related to the attacks, according to a report from Ireland. Trump stated, "I'm going to look at it when I get back," before leaving for the US. The families of 9/11 victims have been advocating for the declassification of extra documents pertaining to the events.

New York lawmakers from both parties have urged the Trump administration to release specific phone records. US Representative Nicole Malliotakis, a New York Republican, expressed optimism about the potential for transparency in a recent interview with ABC News, stating, "This is probably one of the better shots that we have at getting this information out there."

Mayor Zohran Mamdani of New York City had recently released around 170,000 pages of records connected to air quality, health concerns, and the city's response to the attacks.
