Jacksonville, Fla. (AP) — Trevor Lawrence orchestrated a stellar season debut for the Jacksonville Jaguars, leading the team to a dominant 34-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns in Sunday's opener. Lawrence, who also finished with a career-high 150.6 rating, completed 18 of 23 passes for 245 yards and four touchdowns, setting the tone for the Jaguars' season.

The Jaguars dominated from the start, scoring on six of their first seven possessions, with Lawrence finding Parker Washington, rookie Josh Cameron, Brenton Strange, and Jakobi Meyers for touchdowns. Lawrence's performance reflected his strong finish from last season, as he led the Jaguars to a 10-2 record in the AFC South, securing a playoff spot and potentially a Super Bowl appearance.

The Browns, meanwhile, struggled both offensively and defensively. Deshaun Watson, making his first start in nearly two years, threw an interception on the opening drive and nearly another on the team's second possession. Rookie receiver KC Concepcion Jr. also fumbled, further hampering the Browns' efforts. The team finished the game with 272 total yards and just two bright spots: a 74-yard kickoff return by Raheim Sanders in the third quarter and a 46-yard touchdown pass from Watson to Denzel Boston with 1:52 remaining.

Notable absences included Browns running back Dylan Sampson (knee) and left tackle Zion Johnson (left knee), who returned after a brief stint out. However, some Jaguars players, like right tackle Cole Van Lanen, who returned eight months after knee surgery, also made significant contributions, starting the game before getting replaced by backup Walker Little.
