Tak perlu PRN Terengganu, Tuan Ibrahim jawab Tok Mat

The vice president of PAS, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Mat, does not believe the need for a PRN Terengganu in light of the stable administration, according to a statement. The deputy feels that the state government's excellent achievements serve as a strong reason not to burden the people with the cost of the election and the unwelcome political pressure.

"Voting polls are not a gauge of political faith and commitment, but a mandate of the people. All previous PRN in states like Johor, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan were held due to a mature election cycle or other unavoidable factors," he said. He further elaborated that the formula used in Negeri Sembilan is the best one, maintaining the won seat and moving forward to contest the un-won seat.

He went on to say that a dissolution of Parliament is a more appropriate step than a PRN to gain a fresh mandate of the people. "The ball is in the hands of BN, GRS, and GPS. The important thing is PN has coordinated all sections to face any possible scenario," he added. He also addressed the call by Umno Vice President Mohamad Hasan to hold a PRN in Terengganu to test PAS's commitment to Malay unity and demonstrate the party's commitment to political understanding.

Following Umno's chairman meeting (PAU) 2026, Mohamad urged PAS to dissolve DUN in one of the SG4 states and divide seats meticulously with Umno, to prove the sincerity of the cooperation alliance. He further stated that if the faithfulness formula proves successful, it could serve as a model for Malay unity in preparation for PRU16.

Umno suffered a heavy defeat in PRN Terengganu and failed to win any seat out of the 32 contested DUN seats in that state during PRU15.
