Strong Entry Of Uttar Pradesh Into The Semiconductor Sector; ATMP Facility Approved With An Investment Of ₹3,700 Crore

Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is steering the state towards future-oriented industries such as electronics, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, robotics, and deep-tech. With the government's investment-friendly policies, improved connectivity, and a vast technical workforce, UP has established a robust foundation for electronics manufacturing.

Over 200 companies are currently operating in the state's electronics sector, generating over ₹43,000 crore in investments and creating more than 3 lakh employment opportunities, with over 55% of India's mobile phones being manufactured in the region. Two electronics manufacturing clusters have been developed in Gautam Buddh Nagar, while the electronics components manufacturing policy 2025 is attracting investments of over ₹3,800 crore.

Uttar Pradesh has been chosen to play a key role in the Central Government's Semicon India Programme 2.0, with a ₹1.27 lakh crore budget, to create a strong and resilient semiconductor ecosystem in India. The state already has a semiconductor ATMP facility, located in Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, which has attracted investments of over ₹3,700 crore.

The 1,000-acre semiconductor park in Yamuna Expressway region further strengthens the state's position in technology-driven industrial economy. The state's connectivity infrastructure includes Jewar International Airport, Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, and an extensive expressway network.

The 75-acre Robotics and AI Computing Park in Greater Noida is providing a new direction to Uttar Pradesh's technological ecosystem. Beyond electronics and semiconductors, the state has attracted investments of over ₹7,000 crore under the IT Policy, with over ₹21,000 crore invested in the data centre sector. The startup ecosystem, encompassing electronics, semiconductors, AI, robotics, and deep-tech, is rapidly expanding with more than 24,000 DPIIT-registered startups in the state.

Uttar Pradesh's strategy focuses on creating a technology-driven development model by integrating various advanced industries, leveraging its large technical talent pool, engineering and industrial base, and improved infrastructure.
