The respect shared between the South Africa national rugby team, known as the Springboks, and the New Zealand All Blacks stands out throughout their storied rivalry. This mutual regard is evident from the players' shared haka performances to the regular meetings of head coaches for a beer, and even when the teams kneel and pray together after games.

Following their recent final clash, where South Africa emerged victorious with a score of 43-28 in Baltimore, clinching a 3-1 series win, the two teams once again joined hands in prayer.

Springbok captain Siya Kolisi expressed the profound respect between the two teams. Despite media and public scrutiny over scrum legality and criticizing opponents, Kolisi emphasized that the teams "just came together to thank each other for the series."
