Saudi Arabia to mark 2026 National Day under 'Our Pride Is Our Nature' theme

Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan of Saudi Arabia declared at the BRICS Summit that the nation's security, territorial integrity, and resources are inviolable. Speaking at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on Sunday, Prince Faisal stated that Saudi Arabia and other GCC states will not tolerate any targeting of their territories or vital facilities for any reason.

The foreign minister highlighted that the current regional escalation is widening the scope of confrontation and heightening risks to regional and international security and stability. Prince Faisal stressed the need for de-escalation and political and diplomatic efforts to address the situation. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding the security and interests of the region's countries through solutions that respect sovereignty and independence.

Prince Faisal stressed the significance of preserving freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and other maritime routes, which are crucial for energy security and global trade. He cautioned that any disruption to these waterways would have far-reaching consequences beyond the region, impacting international markets and global supply chains.

Prince Faisal affirmed that the stability of the Arabian Gulf is an international interest, closely tied to the global economy's well-being. He called for strengthening joint efforts to maintain regional security and prevent further escalation. The two-day BRICS Summit, hosted by India under the theme 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,' concluded on Sunday.

Leaders of member states and officials from invited countries discussed strategies to enhance cooperation in economic, financial, political, and developmental fields, as well as addressing innovation and sustainability.
