Ruto mourns Senator Mungatana’s daughter following untimely death

President William Ruto has extended his heartfelt condolences to Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana and his wife, Mwanaisha Chidzuga, upon the tragic death of their daughter, Amal Mghoi. In a condolence message posted on his social media, Ruto expressed deep sympathy for the family, describing the loss of a child as an immense sorrow and joining the Mungatana family, their friends, and those who knew Amal in mourning her untimely demise.

Ruto prayed for God's strength, comfort, and peace for the grieving family, stating, "May God grant you and your family strength, comfort and peace, and may Amal's soul rest in eternal peace."

Danson Mungatana, a Kenyan lawyer and politician, expressed his profound grief over the loss of his last-born daughter, Amal Mghoi Mungatana, who passed away while receiving treatment at Gertrude's Children's Hospital in Muthaiga. Mungatana announced the heartbreaking news on Sunday, September 13, 2026, saying his family was devastated by the tragic loss of their eight-year-old daughter.

The senator and his wife, Deputy Government Spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga, shared the announcement as they began their mourning process.

Amal's death occurred after years of medical care for her condition, which had plagued her since birth.
