He emphasized that there are countries hesitant to acknowledge the root cause of the Asia-Pacific conflict, namely the United States (US), Israel, and Iran. Tellingly, condemning Iran's attack does not contradict the efforts to identify the initial actions that caused the conflict to occur. In an interview with NDTV outside the BRICS Summit, he urged an end to the fighting, but stressed that any discussion in that direction must begin with acknowledging the early provocation by Washington and Tel Aviv.

The recent conflict involving Iran is said to stem from the early provocation of the US, and certainly at the beginning by Israel. Many countries are reluctant to accept the acknowledged fact. That fact is to stop ongoing provocations, he stressed, while emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution to the Asia-Pacific conflict.

Asked if Iran and the US are taking extreme positions that could undermine the solution, Anwar said: "I stop the brutality. By brutality, I mean the brutality done by the US, Israel, or Iran. I support such steps." During his conversation with world leaders, Anwar discussed various issues, including the global geopolitical developments with several world leaders attending the BRICS Summit dinner.

Among those he met at the dinner were Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Uzbekistan Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov. He also met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and World Trade Organization Secretary-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
