Rawalpindi Development Authority seals apartments for ‘illegal’ commercial activities

Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) sealed commercial activities deemed illegal at Mid City Apartments on Saturday. An RDA team, aided by Punjab Police, performed an operation targeting illegal commercial activities at the Mid City Apartments on Service Road, Mouza Gangal. Various illegal commercial activities, including unauthorized offices, restaurants, and illegal penthouses, were sealed by the RDA’s enforcement team.

The action complied with the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, RDA Building and Zoning Regulations, and other relevant planning laws. The authority emphasized that they would not tolerate any unauthorized commercial activity, illegal construction, or development violations within their jurisdiction. Strict action would be taken against violators to ensure adherence to approved building plans, zoning regulations, and other relevant laws.

Field teams were instructed to monitor strictly and take action against violations without bias. The RDA is dedicated to promoting planned urban development and ensuring strict compliance with the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations. No illegal construction or unauthorized development will be tolerated, and legal action against violators will continue unabated.

The RDA urged the public to confirm the legal and approval status of any housing scheme or construction project before investing and encouraged citizens to report illegal constructions and unauthorized developments to the RDA for timely actions in line with the law.
