Rangka manusia ditemui dalam tong di Empangan Durian Tunggal

The skeletal remains of a man were discovered within a barrel at the Durian Tunggal Drainage at Machap Baru, Alor Gajah, Melaka, early this morning. Alor Gajah's Police Chief, Ahmad Abu Bakar, stated that the identity and gender of the victim have not yet been determined. The barrel was found by three anglers who were fishing in the area around 11:40 in the morning.

According to Abu Bakar, the anglers discovered the barrel on the edge of the drainage before cutting off the top to inspect its contents. He explained that the anglers were surprised to find skeletal remains before immediately reporting the matter to the police. The police had to call for bomb disposal assistance to lift the barrel approximately 15 meters before transporting it to a hospital for further examination.

It is believed that the remains had been in the barrel for at least three weeks based on the condition of the bones and tissue still attached, the police reported. The victim's identity and gender have yet to be confirmed, and the investigation continues under Section 302 of the Criminal Procedures Code. The police also appealed to the public for any additional information regarding the discovery or any loss of relatives to report to the police to assist further with the investigation.
