Qatar Society of Engineers Launches Inaugural Qatar Architecture Award

The Qatar Society of Engineers has unveiled the inaugural Qatar Architecture Award 2026, a national initiative aimed at recognizing architectural excellence and innovation. The competition focuses on designing a modern residential villa that adheres to Qatari building regulations and promotes sustainable solutions tailored to the needs of Qatari families.

The award, announced at a press conference, is open to Qatari nationals and licensed architectural firms. Eng. Amna Mohammed Al Naama, Chairperson of the Society, emphasized the award's role in supporting the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 and enhancing the quality and sustainability of the built environment. The prize money totals QR 180,000, with outstanding designs to be showcased during Qatari Engineers Day.

Aqarat, the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, has officially sponsored the award, highlighting its commitment to regulating and developing Qatar's real estate sector. Msheireb Properties and Doha Design District, as strategic partners, underscore their dedication to sustainable architecture and national identity. The competition seeks to generate innovative architectural ideas from engineers and firms, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation in Qatar's architectural landscape.

Applications will be accepted until early January 2027, with the winners to be announced during Qatari Engineers Day events.
