PN to focus efforts on 126 'winnable' parliamentary seats ahead of GE16

KUALA LUMPUR: Pas and its Perikatan Nasional allies are concentrating on preparations for their 126 parliamentary seats most likely to win in the upcoming 16th General Election (GE16). Tan Sri Annuar Musa, PN's information chief, mentioned that this figure does not include the seats in Sarawak. Annuar stated that though Pas might not contest all 126 seats, they are prepared to offer support to like-minded allies contesting in those constituencies.

The election machinery of Pas and PN is concentrating its efforts on areas with the highest potential for victory, with no fewer than 126 parliamentary seats currently being targeted. Annuar, in a Facebook post, clarified that the term 'like-minded allies' refers to parties that share similar political ideologies. The claim by Umno's secretary-general, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, that the party would set up a special committee for political cooperation discussions, including with Pas, remains unverified.

Annuar revealed that the decision on which constituencies Pas will contest and the number of seats is left to the party's top leadership. The party is committed to following any decision made by the leadership. Pas also continues to develop policy ideas and plans to make Malaysia a more prosperous nation, according to Annuar.
