Ketua Polis Besut Mohd Rozaime Ab Rahim revealed the true cause of the incident remains under investigation, classifying the death as sudden. Two women were found dead, believed to have been electrocuted at a fish pond in Pantai Air Tawar. The police received a report at 1:40 PM on the same day, stating that a 49-year-old and a 27-year-old woman were found unconscious near the fish pond.

Medical personnel confirmed both victims had passed away, with their bodies sent to the Forensic Unit in Besut Hospital for further examination. However, the police stated the true cause of the incident is still under investigation. Meanwhile, the wife of one of the victims, Wan Muhammad Naim Wan Hussin, 28, did not believe his wife, Rubayyi Razali, 27, would return to rest on Saturday morning after learning she and the fish pond owner, Wan Adilah Wan Awang, 49, had collapsed.

Naim stated that Rubayyi was a second-year Bachelor of Wildlife Biology student at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Jengka, Pahang, undergoing internship training at the fish pond since August 10 and expected to graduate by October 2. "When I saw my wife and the fish pond owner unconscious, I kept asking for help from the nearby farmers.

I think they may have been electrocuted because there were electric wires nearby and running water," he explained, assuring that Rubayyi left behind two male children aged two and four.
