PDWP approves 14 uplift projects in KP

The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) recently approved 14 development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during its seventh meeting held in Peshawar. The meeting, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Planning & Development Department Islam Zeb, approved projects in various sectors including roads, sports, forestry, Board of Revenue (BoR), and multi-sectoral development.

A key focus of the approved projects is to improve connectivity across the province. Among these, a 45-kilometer road from Shughar to Shah Salim in Upper Chitral is to be constructed, connecting remote areas. In Buner district, a 20-kilometer road from Battai to Khalil Top will be widened, improved, and blacktopped to enhance transportation safety and convenience for locals.

In Khyber district's Tehsil Bara, two roads will be constructed: an 11-kilometer stretch from Shangar Markaz to Dars Masjid via Sandipal and an 8-kilometer road from Ahmadi to Donga. Additionally, the PDWP approved a feasibility study for a bypass road in Charsadda, a project in Abbottabad district to connect Makhniyal-Islamabad boundary to Changla Gali via Dukhan Palsar, and the establishment of a sports stadium in Upper Chitral.

A special development package worth over Rs9 billion has been approved for Torghar district, aimed at improving connectivity, creating employment, and enhancing access to essential services like healthcare. Directed by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the PDWP stressed the importance of timely implementation, transparency, and quality during the execution of these projects.
