Pakistan Terror Links Suspected In Threat Case Involving Businessman Imtiyaz Khatri; Accused Sent To Judicial Custody

Mumbai police have uncovered connections to Pakistani terror groups in the investigation of businessman Imtiyaz Khatri's threat case, according to sources. The accused, Mohammed Shafik Mohammed Akbar Lone, 39, was produced before a holiday court on Sunday and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. The Mumbai Crime Branch has found mobile numbers, contact details, and encrypted chats linked to Pakistani terrorists on Lone's phone.

The investigation team is examining the nature of Lone's contacts and activities, as well as allegations that he provided sensitive information about Mumbai and surrounding areas to his alleged handlers across the border. Lone's wife has also come under scrutiny as investigators probe her awareness and potential involvement in his activities.

Police are examining the couple's bank accounts, UPI transactions, digital wallets, and call detail records (CDRs) to identify their contacts and communication patterns. The probe includes potential links with terror networks operating from across the border, with police awaiting the forensic examination of seized devices for further leads.
