NTF to Train Officials Ahead of MOB National Taekwondo Championship

The Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF), the organizers of the inaugural Michael Opeyemi Bamidele National Taekwondo championship, has finalized preparations to train officials ahead of the event. The training is scheduled for September 16, just two days prior to the taekwondo championship set to commence on September 18 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos.

NTF President Tayo Popoola emphasized the significance of the training, stating that all aspects of the upcoming competition will be organized in alignment with global standards. The training session will take place on Wednesday, directly preceding the event that begins on Friday. Bamidele, a former Commissioner for Sports and ex- Commissioner for Information and strategy in Lagos State, is the tournament sponsor and envisions sports as a means to foster unity and empower the youth.

The event aims to involve all states of the federation and Abuja, as well as various clubs nationwide, along with para-military bodies expressing interest in participating. NTF remains open to registrations from states and clubs until further notice, expressing enthusiasm over the positive responses received thus far and anticipating a successful championship in Lagos.
