Notre Dame stays put in Associated Press Top 25 as other schools drop

Notre Dame remains in third place in the Associated Press Top 25 following a weekend of significant changes in college football rankings. The Fighting Irish's consistent performance against Rice, securing a 52-0 victory, likely contributed to their stable position. Notre Dame earned one first-place vote during this period. Meanwhile, Oregon experienced the most notable change with a 15-spot drop to 21st place after a loss to Oklahoma State.

Oregon's performance against the Cowboys was a contributing factor to their decline. Texas has ascended to the top spot after defeating Ohio State. The Ohio State Buckeyes, on the other hand, have dropped five places to 6th. Michigan has re-entered the top 25 after a week-long absence due to a controversial Week 1 Hail Mary over Western Michigan.

The Wolverines also dropped 13 spots to No. 24 following their loss to Michigan. Michigan is now ranked 19th. The top 10 currently includes Texas, Georgia, Notre Dame, Indiana, Miami (FL), Ohio State, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Alabama.
