The UKMTO, a British navy-affiliated tracking agency, reported a projectile striking the vessel while it navigated the strategic waterway. The extent of the damage and the well-being of the crew remained uncertain as of early Sunday, according to UKMTO.

This alert came in the aftermath of Saudi Arabia's decision to temporarily suspend its East-West oil pipeline, citing a precautionary measure following a drone attack. Both Baghdad and Riyadh attributed the assault to Iraq, a region where Iranian-backed militias are believed to operate. As conflicts escalate in the broader Middle East, the specter of rising energy prices looms large, especially after crude oil prices breached the $100 mark per barrel within a week.
