Navarro scores 2 goals (again) as St. Louis City beats Minnesota 4-2, extends unbeaten streak to 15

Rafael Navarro scored two goals for the second straight game, aiding St. Louis City's 4-2 win over Minnesota United and extending the team's unbeaten streak to 15 matches. St. Louis (11-6-8) had not lost since a 2-0 defeat against Austin on May 3. Minnesota (7-11-8) had lost three consecutive games and had just one win in their last 13 matches, dating back to a 3-2 victory against Columbus on May 2.

Navarro, acquired from Colorado on September 2, also scored two goals during his first start for St. Louis in a 2-2 draw against Portland. Kyle Duncan received his second yellow card in the 80th minute, leaving Minnesota with a man down for the remainder of the match. Carlo Holse added a goal and an assist, while Daniel Edelman scored another goal for St. Louis.

Roman Bürki made one save for Minnesota. Navarro's first goal came in the 38th minute when he outraced the defense to a ball played ahead by Holse and chipped the ball over goalkeeper Drake Callender from a few yards out. He also converted a penalty kick in the 57th minute, making it 4-1. Edelman scored in the 19th minute with a rebound from Holse's shot.

Minnesota's Kelvin Yeboah equalized in the 61st minute with a penalty kick. Holse, a 27-year-old midfielder acquired on July 28 from Samsunspor in the Turkish Süper Lig, contributed four goals in his last four games.
