Nashik: Bombay HC Rejects Dr Nilesh Jejurkar’s Anticipatory Bail Plea In Wife’s Death Case

Nashik: Dr Nilesh Jejurkar's hopes of securing anticipatory bail in his wife's death case have been dashed as the Bombay High Court has turned down his plea. After initially being refused by the Nashik court, Jejurkar turned to the High Court for relief. During the hearing before Justice Madhav Jamdar, the court examined the early details of the case and denied his request for protection from arrest.

The court also rejected the defense's plea to delay the order for three weeks. Dr Manisha Jejurkar's death on March 6, 2026, at their Nashik residence prompted her sister to lodge a complaint, leading to the filing of charges against her husband for allegedly aiding in her suicide. The prosecution and complainant highlighted marital conflicts, alleged mental abuse, an alleged extramarital affair, and incidents leading up to her death.

The investigation is now focusing on whether her death could have been a homicide rather than a suicide, examining the scene, evidence, and the post-mortem report. The court has not concluded that Dr Nilesh Jejurkar is guilty, and the police investigation is now deemed crucial in determining the true cause and party responsible for Dr Manisha's death.
