Mumbai Water Stock Update: Seven Lakes At 96.61% Capacity As City Continues To Receive Monsoon Showers

Mumbai's water reserves in seven lakes supplying the city have increased to 96.61% as of 6 am on September 13, according to the Hydraulic Engineer’s Department's latest report. The total useful water content in the lakes was recorded at 1,398,318 million litres (ML), compared to the total live storage capacity of 1,447,363 ML. Vehar lake remained at 100% capacity, while Tansa and Bhatsa were at 98.85% and 97.82% respectively.

Tulsi was at 96.89%, Middle Vaitarna stood at 96.42%, Upper Vaitarna recorded 92.78%, and Modak Sagar was at 93.66%. Mumbai is experiencing moderate showers, and thunderstorms are likely, leading to the issuance of a yellow alert. The city's water position remains strong following substantial rainfall in June and July.
