More than 170 flights delayed in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Sunday

Airlines experienced more than 170 delays at Dubai and Abu Dhabi's main airports on Sunday, with two Flydubai services between Dubai and Bahrain canceled, according to flight-tracking website FlightAware. As of 3:30pm UAE time, there were 122 delays at Dubai International Airport and 51 at Zayed International Airport, with the numbers updated throughout the day. These delays followed a week of disruption, including a UK air-traffic control shutdown and separate technical and weather-related incidents.

Flydubai's FZ23 service from Dubai to Bahrain and FZ24 in the opposite direction were canceled, with passengers advised to check their flight status and operational updates before heading to the airport. Among the delayed arrivals at Zayed International Airport were Etihad Airways flight EY654 from Kuwait and Etihad's EY237 from Bengaluru to Abu Dhabi, both experiencing delays due to technical issues.

Etihad Airways flight EY334 from Abu Dhabi to Kochi was also affected by a technical issue, which in turn impacted the return flight EY335. Additionally, an Abu Dhabi-to-Atlanta flight was diverted to Charlotte due to adverse weather at its destination, causing delays for the return service. Passengers were advised to check their flight status directly with their airline and monitor their email and text messages for updates, with airlines urging them to ensure their details are correct for timely communication.
