McCrary, Brown TDs lead Georgia State past Kennesaw State 31-17

Lanear McCrary Jr. powered Georgia State to a 31-17 victory over Kennesaw State on Saturday. The running back amassed an impressive 101 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Early in the second quarter, Cameran Brown orchestrated a 253-yard passing game and added an 18-yard touchdown run, extending the Panthers' lead to 21-3 at halftime.

Dennis Murray Jr. sealed the halftime advantage with a 12-yard run, making it 28-3 in favor of Georgia State. The Panthers dominated the rest of the game, rushing for a team-high 230 yards and accumulating 483 total yards. Brown completed 16 out of 23 passes and connected with eight different receivers, amassing 62 yards on kept passes.

Samer Layous contributed with three field goals of 41, 27, and 43 yards apiece. For Kennesaw State (1-1), Rickie Collins scored his team's first touchdown with 53 seconds left in the third quarter on a 12-yard run. However, Jamari Harrold answered with a 3-yard touchdown catch from Collins with just 1:56 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Collins finished 260 yards passing and a touchdown, along with 46 yards on the ground. Kennesaw State will next face No. 18 Tennessee next Saturday.
