LSU volleyball buries SELA, Robinson reaches milestone

While fans were engaged in the exciting game between the Saints and Lions in Detroit, LSU volleyball secured an easy 3-0 victory over Southeastern Louisiana at Hammond on Sunday afternoon. This win brings LSU's record to 4-3. In the first set, LSU dominated with a final score of 26-24 and had a serving percentage of .256-.125. The Tigers further showcased their strength in the second set, winning 25-13 and having a serving percentage of .323 to -0.129 (6 kills, 10 errors).

LSU further sealed the match with a final score of 25-21 in the third set, with a serving percentage of .324-.258. The match lasted only 1 hour and 35 minutes, mostly due to service errors; LSU had nine compared to Southeastern Louisiana's three. Overall, LSU's hitting percentage was .299-.088, giving them a clear edge over their opponents.

The Tigers excelled in individual stats, with five players recording double-digits in their biggest categories. OH Jurnee Robinson, the team's star player, led the offense again with 18 kills and became the seventh player in LSU history to reach 1500 kills. Her total of 1506 ranks fifth in program history, and she needs 84 more to tie for fourth place.

Camryn Jeffrey contributed 11 kills, while Takyla Brown led the team in assists with 26, and Lauren Brooker added 15. Kiley Brooks contributed 15 digs, reaching 100 for her career in just her seventh game. This victory marks LSU's 13th win against Southeastern Louisiana. The Tigers' next two matches will be against Miami (FL) in the Canes Classic: a game at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on ACCNx and another game against Tulsa on Friday at 3:00 p.m., which will not be streamed. This concludes non-conference play for LSU volleyball.
