Kleines SUV: Skoda Epiq wird zum dritten Modell der VW-Kleinwagenfamilie

Skoda is expanding its range for the E generation, preparing for the seven-seater SUV Peaq in the Czech Republic, while launching the new entry-level model Epiq at the lower end of the spectrum. The SUV, measuring 4.17 meters in length, will hit the market in the coming weeks at prices starting from 25,900 euros, according to the manufacturer. This price drop of around 12,000 euros compared to the slightly longer Elroq brings the Epiq into the realm of electric mobility.

The Epiq is part of the new Urban Car Family from the VW group and will serve as the practical sibling to VW ID.Polo and Cupra Raval. The SUV features a spacious body and a deep trunk, capable of holding up to 475 liters, which is about 20% more than the gasoline-powered Kamiq. Skoda has also added a small frunk under the hood and a practical carrying case for charging cables.

The Epiq can travel up to 440 kilometers and offers bidirectional charging in three configurations: the base model accelerates to 150 km/h with 85 kW/115 PS and has a range of 310 kilometers on a 37 kWh battery. The Epiq 45, with the same battery, delivers 99 kW/135 PS. The top model, the Epiq 55, features a 155 kW/211 PS engine, a top speed of 160 km/h, and a 51.7 kWh battery that provides up to 441 kilometers of range.

Charging power ranges from 50 to 90 or 105 kW depending on the model, with the option for bidirectional charging for all models via alternating current. The Epiq initially serves as the practical choice in the family, but this role will soon be shared with the arrival of the ID.Cross, also based on the same platform, priced around 2,000 euros more.
