Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: ‘Our Pride Is in Our Nature’

For Saudi Arabia's 96th National Day, the country embraces its slogan "Our Pride Is in Our Nature." This slogan reflects the core values that drive the nation: courage, authenticity, determination, generosity, and hospitality. These principles formed the foundation of the state when it was unified under King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman al-Saud's leadership.

Today, these same values continue to guide the nation's transformation under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, under the framework of Saudi Vision 2030.

Recent figures reveal significant progress in diversifying the Saudi economy, away from its reliance on oil. Non-oil gross domestic product (GDP) has maintained steady growth, accounting for about 55% of the total GDP. This sector expanded by 4.9% in 2025, leading to an overall GDP growth rate of 4.5%, with the economy reaching SAR4,902 billion, or more than $1.3 trillion.

Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows have also surged, increasing from SAR28 billion in 2017 to SAR133 billion in 2025, almost five times the initial level, despite challenges in the global investment landscape.

In addition, Saudi women's labor market participation now exceeds the Vision's target, reaching around 35%. Moreover, 93% of the program and strategy performance indicators have met or surpassed their annual targets, ranging from 85% to 99%. The momentum is expected to continue, with real GDP projected to grow by 3% in the first quarter of 2026, with non-oil activities playing a key role. Within these sectors, financial and business services led the growth, with a 5.4% increase.

The success of Saudi Arabia's National Day is not only a reflection on its past achievements but also a reaffirmation of its commitment to building a prosperous future. The nation's vibrant partnership with Qatar, marked by shared fraternal bonds and common goals, is evidenced by their aligned visions for sustainable development.

Both nations are committed to achieving economic prosperity and human development, as demonstrated by the numerous projects that have been successfully executed, enhancing the quality of life for their citizens.

On this occasion, the bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Qatar were further strengthened with the eighth meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council held in Riyadh on December 8, 2025. This meeting, co-chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, reaffirmed the mutual commitment to expanding relations and highlighted projects, such as the high-speed electric railway that connects the two countries.

The partnership between the two nations is also reflected in the substantial growth in trade, which has increased from approximately SAR2.7 billion to SAR9.3 billion in 2025, signifying a deepening economic integration. The robust relations between Saudi Arabia and Qatar are not only measured by their economic gains but also by their solidarity during regional challenges and efforts in maintaining regional security.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's dedication to regional stability is further exemplified through its active support in facilitating travel, trade, and logistics for GCC countries and the wider region.

As the Kingdom celebrates its National Day, it not only commemorates its proud heritage but also renews its commitment to progress, guided by its deeply rooted values. The partnership with Qatar, which grows stronger with each passing year, epitomizes the depth and breadth of their shared vision and collaboration.
