JetKVM Mini

The JetKVM Mini is a more compact and budget-friendly version of the popular JetKVM device. It comes in two models: a wired Ethernet version priced at $39 and a wireless version, JetKVM Mini W, priced at $42. When purchased in packs of three, the individual units drop to $33 and $36 respectively, making them even more affordable.

Measuring 42 × 42 × 23 mm (1.7 × 1.7 × 0.9 in), the JetKVM Mini boasts an aluminium casing, comparable in footprint to a matchbox. Despite its small size, the device offers native video capture at 1080p (up to 4K with JetKVM OS Services), keyboard and mouse control over USB, and the same intuitive web interface, cloud integration, updates, and security features as the regular JetKVM.

Connecting the JetKVM Mini is straightforward: simply plug in the Ethernet cable, video cable, and USB cable to the target computer, read the IP address from the display, and access it through a web browser. The setup process mirrors that of any other JetKVM device. In contrast, the JetKVM Mini W replaces the RJ45 port with a dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless radio, designed for machines located beyond cable reach.

The wireless model requires minimal setup via Bluetooth, with users selecting a network and entering a password from their phone or laptop.

The JetKVM Mini and Mini W share the same core functionality as the full-sized JetKVM, including video capture, keyboard and mouse control, virtual media management, and wireless connectivity. The Mini utilizes an ESP32-P4X microcontroller, featuring an integrated hardware H.264 encoder. Video is captured at 1080p at 30 fps or 720p at 60 fps and encoded on-chip before being streamed over WebRTC to the user's browser.

The wireless Mini W incorporates an ESP32-C5, providing IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax networking, Bluetooth LE for setup, and IEEE 802.15.4 for Zigbee and Thread compatibility.

The device comes equipped with two USB ports: one for connecting the target computer, capable of operating at USB 2.0 High Speed (480 Mbps), supporting keyboard, mouse, and virtual media input, and drawing power from the connected device. The second USB port is a general-purpose USB port operating at USB 2.0 Full Speed (12 Mbps) and can also function as a backup or secondary power source.

This port serves as an entry point for the project's extensions, with plans to adapt ATX, DC power, and serial extensions to standard USB interfaces in future releases.

The firmware for the ESP32-P4X has been rewritten and is set to be open source from the outset. It communicates using the same protocols as the full-sized JetKVM, ensuring seamless compatibility with the web interface and the JetKVM Cloud. The JetKVM Mini's firmware incorporates JetKVM OS Services, enabling features such as full 4K screen capture, shared clipboard, guest terminal access, file transfer, and upcoming enhancements like secure boot capabilities.

Both JetKVM Mini models will be available starting October 26, 2026, through authorized resellers, with further details to follow on the project's community platform.
