‘It’s a dream come true,’ says Krappie after stellar performance against All Blacks

Morné van den Berg, affectionately known as Krappie, delivered an outstanding performance against the All Blacks in Baltimore, potentially securing a place in the Springboks' No 9 scrumhalf position. The 28-year-old scrumhalf, who has been with the Boks since his debut in 2024, has only made six appearances since then, but has recently stepped up, playing four games in a single month.

He started in two Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry Tests against the All Blacks and played the full 80 minutes in the Boks' 43-28 victory and 3-1 series win over their rivals. Van den Berg's efforts were recognized when he won the man-of-the-match award, scoring a try in the process. Speaking after the match, he expressed his gratitude and pride, stating that playing for the Springboks and scoring a try against the All Blacks was a dream come true.

Bok coach Rassie Erasmus must now decide whether Krappie should replace Grant Williams and Cobus Reinach in the starting lineup, especially as the Boks continue their Nations Championship campaign against Australia.
