India Women refuse to receive Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi

During the post-match presentation of the Women’s Asia Cup trophy, India's women's cricket team declined to accept the award from Asian Cricket Council president Mohsin Naqvi. The ceremony was postponed due to Naqvi's delayed arrival. This was not the first time India's team had refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi; they also declined it after their men's team won the Asia Cup in the same venue a year prior.

The presentation was further delayed by around 40 minutes as the match officials were first presented with their own mementos. Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu and her team received their runners-up medals, after which they collected a cheque from Naqvi. The broadcast cut off after Athapaththu's interview, failing to show India's players receiving their medals or the trophy.
