Hyrox Beijing athlete allegedly completes race despite fecal incontinence, organiser disinfects venue

An athlete competed in the Hyrox fitness race in Beijing while soiling herself in the middle of the event. The footage of the woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, going through the race with soiled legs has sparked a debate online. While some raised concerns over hygiene, others praised her determination to continue. Hyrox, the German fitness company organizing the event, responded by launching a major cleanup operation, including sanitizing equipment and replacing parts of the carpet.

They acknowledged the legitimate concerns but urged people not to target the athlete herself. The company did not reveal the woman's identity but stated that any person found engaging in violent behavior would be permanently banned from all Hyrox events. Some participants in the same race demanded an apology and a refund, arguing that they came into contact with contaminated equipment.

A nurse commented on social media, suggesting that the athlete should have been stopped immediately for health and sanitation reasons. Joe Ho, who participated in the Beijing competition, criticized Hyrox's response and called for compensation for affected participants. Some in the fitness community pointed out that this situation is not uncommon for endurance athletes, citing examples of marathoners stopping to relieve themselves or a Chinese marathoner finishing with menstrual blood on her legs.
