Heavy thunderstorms and flash floods expected in several regions Sunday

The National Center for Meteorology has issued a forecast predicting heavy thunderstorms and flash floods in various regions on Sunday. This includes areas in Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah. The storms are expected to bring not only rain but also hail and strong winds. A chance of fog is also possible in these regions.

Coastal areas in the Eastern Province are also at risk. The weather center also warned of thunderclouds with strong, dust-raising winds that may form over parts of Najran and the southern parts of the Eastern Province. Surface winds over the Red Sea are forecast to blow from the north to northwesterly at speeds ranging from 15 to 38 km/h.

The wave heights are expected to be between half a meter and one and a half meters, with sea conditions being light to moderate. In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds are anticipated to be from the southwesterly to southeasterly direction, at speeds between 10 to 25 km/h. The wave heights in this region will be from half a meter to one meter, and sea conditions are expected to remain light.
