From Samsung to Salesforce to Google: How an IITian turned his ‘will to prove it’ into a dream career | Success story

Bengaluru-based tech professional Vedic Mishra, an IIT graduate, has shared his remarkable career journey, from struggling with coding at Samsung to landing a job at Google. In his Instagram handle @bug_to_feature, Mishra recounted how he initially felt like an outsider among more experienced developers during his time at Samsung.

Despite these early challenges, he used his IIT experience to fuel his determination and set out to overcome his weaknesses in coding and technical skills. Over the course of two months, Mishra dedicated 6-8 hours per day to mastering data structures and algorithms (DSA), system design, and various technology stacks through online courses, books, and articles.

His hard work paid off when he secured a position at Salesforce. However, even after securing the job, Mishra continued to grapple with self-doubt and impostor syndrome, questioning whether his success at Salesforce was genuine. Determined to prove himself, he decided to move on from Salesforce to a bigger technology company, ultimately joining Google.

Mishra emphasized that his career decisions were driven by personal ambition and a desire to validate his achievements to himself, rather than to diminish his previous experiences at Samsung or Salesforce. His story resonated with many, inspiring some to share their own feelings of imposter syndrome and a sense of "everything feeling like a fluke."
