Freddy Peralta, Jonathan Aranda help Rays beat Astros 14-4 to sweep series

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Tampa Bay Rays' pitchers Freddy Peralta and Jonathan Aranda led their team to a 14-4 victory over the Houston Astros, securing a three-game sweep on Sunday.

Peralta (9-11) dominated the Astros with a five-hitless inning, pitching to a sharp 86 pitches. Aranda contributed with two of Tampa Bay's four home runs, helping the Rays break the Astros' 90-win season record.

The Rays' offense was relentless, with each starter contributing at least one hit and run. Richie Palacios led the charge, hitting his 10th homer for a 7-0 lead after shortstop Jeremy Peña made an outstanding play. Jonathan Aranda extended the lead to 11-0 with a solo shot in the fourth inning. The Rays continued their dominance with Nick Fortes' and Isaac Paredes' home runs, leading to an overwhelming 14-4 win.
