FDS crash: Dr Ainul’s husband thanks all, calls nationwide support a ‘blessing’

KOTA BHARU, Sept 13 — Muhammad Faiz Abdul Malik, the husband of Dr Ainul Baraah Kamarudin, has extended his gratitude to all who aided in the handling of his late wife’s remains and offered prayers for her. Mr Faiz, 37, said federal, Sarawak, and Kelantan governments’ support had greatly facilitated the arrangements concerning his wife, including throughout his time in Sarawak.

"Fate has taken its course, but Alhamdulillah, everything was made easier," he told reporters at Masjid Al Karomah Mukim Baung Besar, Pengkalan Chepa, today. He appreciated the support and prayers of Malaysians nationwide, as well as the media. Mr Faiz acknowledged the challenges in the initial stages, such as uncertainties surrounding information during the early investigation.

However, he noted that the funeral proceedings, including identification and DNA testing, were completed earlier than expected. The 33-year-old Dr Ainul Baraah was among five people killed in a Flying Doctor Service helicopter crash at Long Lellang STOLport in Baram on Tuesday. She was laid to rest at Sri Kedeper Muslim Cemetery at 2.20pm following funeral prayers at Masjid Al Karomah Mukim Baung Besar.
