FDS crash: Dr Ainul’s husband thanks all, calls nationwide support a ‘blessing’

Kota Bharu, September 13 — Dr Ainul Baraah Kamarudin's husband, Muhammad Faiz Abdul Malik, has conveyed his gratitude to everyone who assisted and prayed for the orderly handling of his wife's remains following the helicopter crash that claimed her life along with four others. Faiz, 37, highlighted the invaluable support from the federal, Sarawak, and Kelantan governments, which significantly eased the burden during this difficult time.

"Fate has taken its course, but Alhamdulillah, everything was made easier. I received support from everyone, both friends and those who were unfamiliar to me," he said, attributing the blessings to the nationwide prayers and support from Malaysians. At Masjid Al Karomah Mukim Baung Besar in Pengkalan Chepa, he expressed appreciation to the media as well.

While acknowledging the initial uncertainties and the time taken for the arrangements in Sarawak, Faiz noted that the process concluded earlier than anticipated, including the identification and DNA testing phases. "I accept what has happened, but there are times when memories and thoughts of her come back to me," he admitted, his voice choked with emotion.

Dr Ainul Baraah, 33, was buried at Sri Kedeper Muslim Cemetery at 2.20 pm today, following the funeral prayers held at the same mosque. She was among the five victims of the Flying Doctor Service helicopter crash at the Long Lellang STOLport in Baram last Tuesday.
