Cowboys Hit With Season-Ending Injury Right Before Season Opener vs. Giants

The 27-year-old Davis had hip surgery on Sunday, marking the end of his 2026 season before it had truly begun. This news comes as a blow to the Cowboys, who have lost one of their crucial running back depth options.

With Davis sidelined for the entire season, it is likely that the Cowboys will seek to bolster their running back lineup in the early stages of the campaign. In his last season with the Cowboys, Davis played in 10 games, setting career highs with two touchdowns, 11 first-down rushes, 52 rushing attempts, and 250 rushing yards. Despite this impressive performance, the Tampa, Florida native will not get the opportunity to build on his success in 2026.

Over his three seasons with the Cowboys, Davis has recorded three touchdowns and 411 rushing yards in 25 career NFL games. Davis joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2022, signing with the team.
