Arrangements in place for free power supply to Ganesh pandals in Telangana
CMD of SPDCL Jitesh Patil visits Khairatabad, Balapur pandals and inspects arrangements
The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, has directed the two distribution utilities in the state, Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TGSPDCL) and Northern Discom (TGNPDCL), to ensure free electricity supply to Ganesh pandals across the state. In line with this directive, TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director, Jitesh V. Patil, visited key pandals in Khairatabad and Balapur to assess the arrangements for uninterrupted power supply during the Ganesh festival.
Patil held discussions with the Ganesh Utsav Committee to gather information about the power supply infrastructure, backup systems, and emergency response mechanisms in place. He emphasized that the entire setup would be monitored 24/7 from the moment the idols are installed until the final immersion procession. Patil also designated officers for each pandal to oversee the power supply round-the-clock.
He strongly advised organizers against hooking directly to electricity lines, as it posed significant safety risks. TGSPDCL has set up a helpline at 1912 and a WhatsApp number 8712441912 for organizers and the public to report any emergencies.
