Archery: Bommadevara wins historic World Cup gold

Breanna Stewart led the U.S. to a 97-79 victory over France in the fifth straight women's FIBA World Cup, extending the Americans' winning streak to 36 games. The U.S. improved to 9-0 in gold-medal games since their second-place finish in 1983. Despite trailing by 14 points in the first half, the U.S. rallied behind Stewart and Jackie Young to get within two at halftime.

Caitlin Clark hit a crucial 3-pointer just before the buzzer. The U.S. dominated the second half, starting the third quarter with an 11-2 run to build a 54-47 lead. Stewart had a game-changing stretch with four points, while Young contributed 18 points. France nearly closed the gap but the Americans maintained a 16-point lead into the fourth quarter, securing their fifth consecutive championship and France's best-ever performance at the event.
