APC’s Spokesman Tackles Kwankwaso on Promise to Take Care of Atiku If He Withdraws from Presidential Race

The spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, confronted the vice presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, over his pledge to ensure Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is taken care of if Kwankwaso withdraws from the 2027 presidential race.

Kwankwaso, who is running alongside Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the NDC, had urged Atiku to withdraw from the race and support the NDC ticket. He argued that Atiku's age and health would necessitate this. Morka questioned the opposition's confidence in negotiating for the presidency before Nigerians have determined who will hold the office in 2027.

He dismissed their actions as hypocrisy, revealing their true nature as "whited sepulchres filled with the stench of corruption and malignant hypocrisy," as he put it. Morka accused the opposition of engaging in "horse trading" over a position they neither possess nor are guaranteed, expecting to win by the will of the Nigerian electorate in 2027.

Despite this, Atiku has expressed his intention to remain in the 2027 presidential race, stating it would be his last attempt at becoming president.
