2027: Sowore promises N500,000 wage, 24-hour electricity if elected

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, has pledged to offer a N500,000 monthly wage for workers, 24-hour electricity, free education, and the construction of one million public homes if elected president in the 2027 elections. Speaking to Independent, Sowore detailed his party's agenda for the upcoming elections, emphasizing the necessity of equal rights and justice.

He criticized Nigeria's current wealth distribution, stating that the country's resources are being exploited by a few elite individuals. Sowore's proposal for a living minimum wage stems from the fact that Nigerians are currently receiving inadequate pay while those in political positions accumulate millions. The AAC candidate also vowed to provide universal access to education, eliminate the burden of advance rent payments, and reform healthcare to ensure it is a right rather than a privilege.

Additionally, Sowore intends to industrialize Nigeria, enhance agricultural production, and reconstruct infrastructure. He further pledged to combat corruption, recover stolen public resources, and modernize security institutions. Sowore's party will finance its campaign without relying on wealthy individuals or political patrons, opting instead for a "people-funded" approach.
