Zelensky says willing to meet Putin at G20 in Miami

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his openness to meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin at a G20 summit in December, according to an interview released on Saturday. This comes as efforts to end the conflict, which is Europe's deadliest since World War II, gain momentum. The United States, currently leading the G20 group of major economies, is pushing for fresh face-to-face talks between Moscow and Kyiv.

US negotiators recently visited both Kyiv and Moscow, and US President Donald Trump and Putin had a recent phone call described as "extremely frank" and "constructive." Zelensky reiterated his willingness to meet Putin during the G20 summit in Miami, emphasizing that the goal is to achieve results rather than just words. The Ukrainian leader also pointed out that Ukraine has gained strength on the battlefield, with Russia suffering heavy losses.

Ukraine is considering initiating negotiations sooner rather than later, while the Kremlin remains hesitant to discuss specific dates or venues. Zelensky further urged his allies to provide more interceptor missiles to counter Russian air attacks, highlighting the immense challenge in equipping 280 interceptors each month.
