Zahid: Umno will not blindly follow those seeking to dictate its direction

Umno president Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi criticized Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, stating that the party will not blindly follow those attempting to dictate its political direction. Zahid made the remark after Anwar urged his supporters to learn about Madani diplomacy's international application. The Umno General Assembly attracts both members and outsiders, which prompted Zahid's statement.

He reminded Anwar that even if the teacher behaves differently, the students do not have to follow the same example. Zahid emphasized Umno's political independence and leadership in determining the party's direction, comparing the party to an owner with members as its owners. He also accused outsiders trying to influence the party as troublemakers.
