British populist party Reform UK has received record donations twice over, according to a media report. Cryptocurrency entrepreneur Ben Delo gave £36 million, the largest single contribution to a political party in Britain since records began. Another cryptocurrency supporter, Christopher Harborne, announced he would transfer the same amount to the party.

Harborne had previously donated £1 million to Reform UK. The donations are the largest ever recorded in Britain. The British Election Commission releases reported party donations quarterly; the £10 million donation from Lord John Sainsbury to the Conservatives in September 2023 previously held the record. Harborne transferred £9 million to Reform UK in August 2025.

In Germany, the Union received almost £7.9 million in donations from all other parties in the Bundestag in the 2025 election year. The Union and CSU together received nearly £7.9 million. The parties received smaller amounts: the SPD received £2.3 million, the Greens earned £1.2 million, and the Left received £300,000. In Germany, donations of £35,000 or more must be reported to the Bundestag president.

Delo told "The Telegraph" he donated the funds to ensure "a fair fight" in the elections. Reform had been leading in the polls in recent months but had fallen behind recently. Delo said, "My conclusion from Reform's recent problems is that they should spend less time raising money to compete on equal terms and more time preparing for governance."

Reform's leader Nigel Farage said he felt "honored" by the donor's support. Multiple accusations of spending scandals involving the party have recently hit the headlines, leading to an investigation by the police. Spendence questions also arose against Reform's leader Nigel Farage, who received a £5 million (5.8 million Euro) gift from Harborne in 2024 and did not declare it. A parliamentary investigation is currently underway against Farage.
