Up to 3 million tourists from 50 nationalities visited Hurghada in 8 months: ETA

The Egyptian Travel Agents Associations (ETA) in Hurghada have reported that the city's airport welcomed approximately three million tourists between January and the end of August 2026, marking a three percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The influx of tourists from around 50 nationalities highlights the city's diverse tourism market, which provides significant resilience and stability.

German tourists led the list of source markets, with about 825,800 visitors, followed by Russians with 638,800 tourists, Poles with 303,000 tourists, and the British with 245,700 tourists. The Czech market recorded about 127,000 tourists during this period. This surge in tourism reflects the enduring appeal of Egypt's Red Sea cities, particularly Hurghada, as a top destination for beach holidays, marine activities, and desert safaris.

The city's numerous hotels and resorts are well-equipped to handle large numbers of visitors throughout the year. Sayed al-Gabry, Head of the Associations in Hurghada, emphasized that these figures confirm the city's continued prominence on the global tourism map, driven by its natural assets and tourism allure.
