Trump says he would be OK with China building cars in US

Donald Trump landed in Dublin for a two-day visit to Ireland, where he will engage with politicians, business leaders, and play golf. Upon arriving at Áras an Uachtaráin, Ireland's official residence, Trump was greeted by its host, Catherine Connolly, who was known for her previous criticism of the US President. Connolly led Trump down the Francini corridor and into the state reception room, where they signed the visitors' book.

They proceeded to the drawing room and hallway, where Trump met with dignitaries. Tánaiste Simon Harris praised the visit, mentioning Trump's enthusiasm for the Doonbeg golf resort, where he has his vacation property. Harris noted that some of Trump's senior staff have Irish connections. The controversial Boeing aircraft that brought Trump was previously used for a high-profile incident in Turkey, where the president was moved to a separate aircraft due to a potential Iranian threat.

Trump's visit coincides with the Irish Open, a major golf tournament at Doonbeg, owned by the US president.
