Soludo’s wife condemns sexual abuse of child by mother

Dr Nonye Soludo, the Anambra First Lady, has strongly condemned the sexual abuse and exploitation of a child by her supposed mother in Onitsha. Soludo expressed her shock and concern over the rescue of four children connected to the alleged abuse. According to a police statement, a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, was arrested in connection with the case after a video surfaced showing a woman using sex toys on a minor.

Four children, aged 2, 3, 6, and 9, were rescued during the arrest, along with sex toys and other items relevant to the investigation.

Reacting to the news, Soludo emphasized that no child should experience such trauma and that no society should ever tolerate the abuse of its most vulnerable. As the founder of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, she reaffirmed Anambra's commitment to protecting women and children from all forms of violence, abuse, and exploitation.

The First Lady called for a thorough, transparent, and professional investigation into the matter, urging the police to identify any additional suspects and ensure that the perpetrators face justice.

Soludo expressed her concern for the four rescued children, stressing that their physical safety is just the beginning. She emphasized the importance of addressing the emotional and psychological wounds these children may have suffered. Soludo vowed to closely follow the case, engaging with relevant government agencies to provide necessary medical, psychological, social, and rehabilitation support for the children's healing and recovery.

She urged everyone, particularly parents, guardians, neighbors, and community members, to remain vigilant and report any threats to a child's safety and dignity, stating that silence is never acceptable when a child's well-being is at risk.
