Solheim Cup resumes with Europe and US tied, Korda and Corpuz seeking a 6th straight win

DEN BOSCH, Netherlands (AP) — The Solheim Cup resumed on Saturday with Europe and the United States tied at 4-4, and both teams looking to capitalize on their star players' recent form.

Allisen Corpuz and Nelly Korda, a record-breaking American duo, sought a sixth consecutive victory in their partnership after opening Day 2 down 1-0 against Swedish duo Linn Grant and Maja Stark. Meanwhile, Europe needed improved performances from Charley Hull and Lottie Woad, who had only managed a half-point over both of their matches on Day 1.

In the morning foursomes at Bernardus Golf, Europe took an early lead, with Corpuz and Korda trailing by a single stroke. In Match 3, Europe's rookies Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud pulled ahead of American pair Andrea Lee and Auston Kim after four holes, both sides splitting the session 2-2. This marked the first time in the event's 30-year history that two sessions were split equally. The United States, defending champions with an 11-7-1 series lead since 1990, needed 14 points to retain the trophy.
