Sindh decides to pay pension on retirement day from Jan 2027

The Sindh government announced a significant policy change, pledging to pay pension and other financial benefits to employees on the day they retire, starting from January 1, 2027. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, who addressed pension and medical reimbursement concerns. Shah instructed all provincial departments to resolve outstanding pension bills within a three-month period, emphasizing that government employees should receive their pension and basic financial rights on their final day of service without the need for repeated office visits.

To achieve this, Shah established an inter-departmental task force, led by the Services department secretary, to oversee the implementation of timely pension payments and suggest necessary rule amendments. The meeting also tackled the issue of delayed medical reimbursement claims, attributing the delays to administrative obstacles rather than policy or funding problems.

Shah directed officials to streamline processes by reducing unnecessary paperwork, simplifying tasks such as e-verification, and expediting the issuance of no-objection certificates (NOCs). Additionally, Shah tasked the General Administration secretary with conducting a joint review of the medical reimbursement process, aiming to create a more expedient and hassle-free experience for employees and their families.

Shah reiterated that the government's ultimate goal is to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles that employees face when claiming their pension and medical dues.
