Saudi Arabia condemns Iraq-launched drone attack on East-West Pipeline

Saudi Arabia has firmly denounced the recent drone attack on the East-West Pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah regions, which originated from Iraq. The assault resulted in casualties and inflicted significant damage to the infrastructure, currently undergoing restoration efforts. The Kingdom explained that, upon Iraq's Prime Minister's request, it has chosen not to retaliate at present and will instead back Iraq's endeavors to curb attacks emanating from its territory against Saudi Arabia and other neighboring nations.

Saudi Arabia emphasized its commitment to preserving its sovereignty and security, safeguarding its assets, and ensuring the well-being of its citizens and residents. The Kingdom's local police chief was reportedly killed and four others were wounded in a separate shooting incident in Iraq. Despite the ongoing challenges, Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its commitment to the stability of Iraq and has taken action against Iran-backed militias operating within the country.
