RFK's playoff drivers could be collected in Keselowski, Spire feud

Chris Buescher, a driver for RFK Racing, expressed his disdain for comments suggesting his team could be targeted in a feud between Brad Keselowski and Carson Hocevar. The tension arose after Keselowski's crash during the Southern 500, caused by contact from Hocevar. Keselowski expressed his frustration in a post-race interview, and while he appeared measured in a press conference, he reiterated that the rivalry was far from over.

Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson suggested that his team and Buescher could be affected by the escalating situation. Dickerson stated that they don't want to engage in a "crashing cars contest," but warned that if Hocevar were to get wrecked, there would be a "commensurate response."

Both Keselowski and Preece responded with combative statements, each declaring, "Bring it." Buescher dismissed Dickerson's remarks as "dumb" and urged the media to ignore the situation. The RFK Racing drivers, currently 11th and 15th in the championship standings respectively, are 12th in the Chase for the Championship. However, Keselowski did not qualify for the playoff format, meaning any retaliation would carry little consequence beyond losing points and facing fines. Hocevar, on the other hand, sees the drama as beneficial for NASCAR business.
