Quantum LC donates €75,000 state-of-the-art heater-cooler unit to National Cardiothoracic Centre

The National Cardiothoracic Centre (NCTC) recently received a substantial donation of a cutting-edge Liva-Nova 3T heater-cooler unit, valued at €75,000, from Quantum LC and WBHO. The donation aims to upgrade the centre's cardiopulmonary bypass system, thereby improving patient care during open-heart surgeries. Quantum LC's Chief Executive, Dr. Joseph Titus Glover, expressed their ongoing dedication to supporting the Centre's medical services, stating their willingness to assist whenever needed.

Dr. Kow Entsua-Mensah, Director of the Cardio Centre, gratefully accepted the donation, mentioning the long-standing friendship between Quantum LC/WBHO and the NCTC, which began during their days at Achimota School. The newly acquired unit will replace an older model, significantly enhancing the operational efficiency during critical cardiovascular procedures.

Dr. Entsua-Mensah further stated that this partnership will deepen as they explore new areas of collaboration. The donation follows a recent medical outreach by the Cardio Centre staff to Quantum LC/WBHO's mining operations, where they provided cardiac-related services to workers and residents in the surrounding area. Looking ahead, both parties are committed to strengthening their collaborative efforts to benefit Ghanaian heart patients in the years to come.
